Dr. Sue Nugent Reed, PhD.

Dr. Sue Nugent Reed, PhD., 90, passed away on March 10, 2024 with her family by her side. Sue was of Mahwah, NJ and Rockland County, NY. Sue was born on August 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. Beloved mother of Jessica Lindsay Reed and Scott Gordon Reed Jr. Cherished grandmother of Felicity, Cody, April, Scott III and Loden . Sue was an accomplished educator she received her PhD in 1973 from NY University. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and was an Assistant Professor at Hunter College, an instructor for Gifted Pupils at Rockland Community College, Principal for Congers Elementary School, Little Tour Elementary School and Assistant Professor for the College of New Rochelle, NY. She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi.

Sue was a breath of fresh air. She lived life to the fullest and impacted many lives.  She loved gardening, always involved in school actives and loved spending time with her family. She was a world traveler and spoke 5 languages. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and loved to smile. She was a proud mother, grandmother and good friend to many. People who she spoke to were always in awe of her knowledge. Later in life Sue taught Tai Chi Instruction at the Mahwah Senior Center. She enjoyed the company of her caretakers. Sue will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held privately.
